A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came to the Caborado Band Show last night at the Coyote Moon! On behalf of Gil, Geo, Hector, and myself, it was so enjoyable to share the night and the music with you! We have a few more shows scheduled this week….

That was part of a Facebook message posted by Pagosa Springs vocalist Lisa Saunders yesterday. Ms. Saunders has been the lead singer for number of bands over the past decade both here in Pagosa, and in Durango — and for the past four years, in the Mexican resort town of Cabo San Lucas, at the southernmost tip of Baja California.

During her time in Cabo, Lisa has connected up with numerous musicians, including three members of rock singer Sammy Hagar’s ‘Cabo Wabo’ house band: drummer Geovan Olachea, guitarist Gilberto Menoza and bassist Hector Lopez, who became part of the ‘Caborado’ backup band for her 2016 debut album, Infatuacion. That album featured professional musicians from Pagosa, Durango and Cabo San Lucas, and thus the name ‘Caborado’ was coined by producer DC Duncan to designate the backup musicians.

Lisa’s album was produced partly in Colorado and partly in Cabo, and features a mix of pop, Latin and jazz favorites.

This week, the three musicians from Cabo — Geovan, Gilberto and Hector — have flown into town for a series of performances, including the following upcoming dates:

Thursday, September 19 (tonight) at 6pm at the Pagosa Springs Arts Council Mosaic Raffle and Celebration at the PSAC Arts Center, 197 Navajo Trail.

Friday, September 20 at 5pm, Poolside Party at the Springs Resort. “Caborado Band will be rockin’ it Pool-side from 5-7pm, playing up an eclectic mix of Rock, Pop & Latin Hits…. No Cover charge… come and enjoy happy hour with us. Check in at the bathhouse and let them know you are here to see the band… The Springs has a wonderful outdoor area serving up food & tasty cocktails…”

Saturday, September 20 starting at 4pm, for the Colorfest Bands & Brews in Town Park. Learn more at http://pagosachamber.com

I had a chance to hear the band perform at Mountain Pizza on Tuesday, and enjoyed a range of musical styles you rarely get a chance to hear in Pagosa Springs, backed by excellent musicianship and tight vocal harmonies.

A closing note from Lisa:

I LOVE YOU PAGOSA SPRINGS – Thank you again for your continuous support in all my musical projects!
